Random Thoughts 
What Lens are you using, love the sharpness. did you bump p the ISO for this? Or did some post in Photo shop?

I have used Nikon 55-200 Telephoto lens for Nikon D40X for these photo and most photos were taken at max zoom.
AFA I can remember the ISO was kept at 100 and I use Open Source Software like UFRaw and GIMP for editing my photos. This images are only cropped with GIMP and not enhanced in any other way.
